About Castle Infinity

Castle Infinity © 1996 Starwave Corporation. This is a non-commercial preservation project and is not affiliated with any current rights holder.

What is this?
This is a preserved copy of Starwave-era Castle Infinity, the 1996 massively multiplayer online game for kids.
Is this game intended for children?
It was in 1996, but this port is intended for nostalgic millennials. Please follow the ten rules of Castle Infinity and keep things kid-friendly.
How do accounts work?
The game does not collect any email addresses or passwords. You'll get a secret key the first time you log in. Please write it down somewhere safe. Don't use your real name or share other personal information.
Can I have my old stuff back?
Yes! Just log in with your old game name to claim it. You’ll get your scores, items, and parts, but for privacy reasons you won’t get back any postcards or other personal information.
So anyone can claim any name?
We’re using the honor system for now. There are only 1000 of you and you’re all around 40 years old, so it shouldn't be a problem. Please only claim your own name, don’t ruin it for everyone else!
What do I do if someone is breaking the rules?
Use the safety button in your Stellavision.
I lost my account!
Without your secret key there's usually no way to get it back, but email stella@castleinfinity.com and we'll try.
What gameplay changes have been made?

In the original game, you needed to get a Wrench Monkey to access the basement and a Monster Molar to get to Hrozz. These requirements have been removed to make it easier for everyone to experience the full game.

The per-sector player cap has been increased from 11 to 32. (64 in Central Fountain)

Some 1997 sectors (including Hrozz's Hroost, Trace's Training Track, and Cloverleaf) had invalid camera settings, which made it difficult to follow the motion of the game. These now use the same camera motion settings as all other sectors.

An optional "motion smoothing" feature was added. This smooths motion to 60fps, but adds some latency.

Welcome back!

We've migrated your items, scores, and parts as of 2004.

Write down your game name and new account key now. You'll need both to sign in on a new device or if your browser cookies get dropped.
